I’ve got a philosophical argument against this one:  memes are by definition visual slogans which makes them potentially more dangerous than slogans.  Look up “sloganeering” For how much damage they can do to human discourse.

 

The problem with memes over sloganeering is a visual image reads faster than words.  It’s parallel not serial.  They can potentially be even less true than slogans and still get away with it.  Worse slogans can be unpacked and disproved.  That’s much harder to do with a picture.  They aren’t always the crack cocaine of lying, but they can be.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.
