Proper Modern GPU for 1440p Sims

Not a huge gamer so I’m not too familiar with what I should be buying for solid 1440p performance today. I play F1, Racing Sims, and X-Plane and currently run a 34inch ultrawide 3440 x 1440 curved monitor. What is the best price/performance option out there today?

60 fps? a 2070 would be decent, 2080 would be good for high/max details.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

For 3440 x 1440, I recommend either Radeon VII or RTX 2080. If you want to make sure you are solid at that resolution and keep consistent frames in 2-3 years time, I'd go with Radeon VII over the 2080 because it has more vram. Either is good though. If you want a cheap option, Vega 64 is a good option. Don't waste money on the 2070, it's overpriced and offers basically nothing over the vega card for the extra price. And although rtx 2060 performs similarly to vega 64, the 6gb is a no-go for 3440x1440.

Brand new the best pick for longevity and ensured max settings would be the RTX 2080

If you're okay purchasing used the GTX 1080 Ti is excellent.

If you want to save the bare minimum is the RTX 2060, I would avoid the Radeon 7 and RTX 2070 as they represent bad value in what you get for your money comparing to the other alternatives.

Thanks. Looks like I put myself into a fairly expensive situation.

I can pickup a Vega 64 for $380. Would this be a good value buy or should I swing for a used 1080ti for the extra 120-150 bucks?. I think buying a new 2080 is out of the question given how expensive they are new and used.

Yes vega 64 is fine, but be prepared to lower the settings to high rather than ultra in some cases to keep 60 fps. If you want to buy used (There is a risk involved but you should be fine) then yes go for the 1080ti. It's worth it for around the 500 mark you were talking about.

I'd love to know where I've said that. This thread has nothing to do with the gtx1050 and rx570. I assume you've posted in the wrong place.

I'm pretty sure SIMS doesnt require that much GPU power. The max a Vega 56 would handle. You can find many bellow 300$.
