Low cost Gaming Server

Im going to build a low cost gaming server and was wondering what cpu(s), motherboard, and also how much storage and memory it needs
i have a buget of 600 to 1200 dollars (would like to be under 1000 $)

no need for a gaming server, just add more harddrive space to your pc

what rig do you have now? it will determine if you just upgrade overall or can simply just add more space. 

 

servers are really needed for gaming.

You're usually better off just renting a server in a datacenter, servers are loud and draw a lot of power and you won't have to worry about connection speeds for all your players...

i just have a laptop (lenovo y700). and i would want it to its host multiple servers at once (if necessary). but it would be nice to have a combo of a nas server and a gaming server

You've still left out some important questions,

 

What games or services do you plan on hosting? Gaming only? Website and other amenities such as Teamspeak or Ventrilo?

Well. Was gonna do gaming servers for Ragemp (Gta5), Unturned and much more hige powerd and low powerd games. Could do some hosting and if possible a nas. (Could be a seperat server for another time)
