Corsair TX550M would suffice and probably be within your budget.

rmx would be even better, as you may know...

a RMx is also significantly more expensive and not required for a mid range build, without any specific need for full modular and more silent operation OP can save up this price difference with a clear conscious.

This is becoming like a war. I think the 80+ work great for most but of course sometimes they fail. This is with all PSU's and it is not uncommon. The EVGA 80+ gold is efficient and most importantly, does not frequently fail

Any donation is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

and i'll be the first to prove you otherwise. Aris (tomshardware psu tester) literally destroyed a g3 with just doing the normal testing. and that's just one example, i could name so many more things. from cherry picking units to reviewers to straight up selling old crap, not all evga units are good and some are even really bad. that's why we say you should NEVER trust on brand

80+ Gold really doesn't mean anything, has nothing to do with quality.

There are a lot of garbage Gold rated units on the market.

Look at the new tier list, the very best are in the A+ and S tiers, I wouldn't even think about getting any PSU below A+ personally.

i9 9900K @ 5.0 GHz, NH D15, 32 GB DDR4 3200 GSKILL Trident Z RGB, AORUS Z390 MASTER, EVGA RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra, Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500GB, Samsung 860 EVO 1TB, Samsung 860 EVO 500GB, ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q 27", Steel Series APEX PRO, Logitech Gaming Pro Mouse, CM Master Case 5, Corsair AXI 1600W Titanium.

i7 8086K, AORUS Z370 Gaming 5, 16GB GSKILL RJV DDR4 3200, EVGA 2080TI FTW3 Ultra, Samsung 970 EVO 250GB, (2)SAMSUNG 860 EVO 500 GB, Acer Predator XB1 XB271HU, Corsair HXI 850W.

i7 8700K, AORUS Z370 Ultra Gaming, 16GB DDR4 3000, EVGA 1080Ti FTW3 Ultra, Samsung 960 EVO 250GB, Corsair HX 850W.

Mine is extremely quiet. Here is a link - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0106RDIN2/ref=twister_B01LXKQ07C?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

I have had them in a server and gaming pc's. The server runs 400W all the time without a problem

I think For the price they are great and I have had no problems.

When did I claim the G2 was loud? For noise, it's not that bad.

https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/EVGA/SuperNOVA_G2_650/5.html

It's terrible for the price, though. You can get better units for a lot less. Ones that are quieter, have multi rail and OTP and more custom cable options.

:)

Do you have statistics to back up this claim? Not anecdotes, but actual RMA rates.

There always are so it seems.

I wouldn't even bother or even remotely think about anything below A+ on the new list personally, wouldn't buy any of them with my money today.

Below that and you get into the MEH units really on the new list.

They really did a good job on the new list splitting them up.

Do you want something modular and quite. If so, I still recommend the EVGA on

Who gives a shit about Userreviews from users that have a sample size of one and no comperisation to other PSU?!

If they had something good to compare them to, that's also quiet, it would be a different story - but then they wouldn't rate the EVGA so high..

Its rather Average...

I know that  Stefan Payne is talking some shit about them but for the most part, I think they will work for your price point and they offer a lot of features.

No, you just close your eyes for the truth.

@seon123 has linked a Test that shows its meh, not "quiet" like you claim.

Especially for the Price, you can get a Bitfenix Whisper M, 450 or 550W, be quiet Straight Power 11 or for example Xilence Performance X.

The Whisper M has a bit Motor Noise, though fan RPM at 500rpm or less, that's OK. The be quiet and Xilence are even lower than that at least at normal operation. (the Xilence is a bit louder at high loads. And I only have the 750W).

Buttom line:
Its meh, 08/15, Standard. For the same amount of money you get BETTER stuff from other Companies that bring something unique to the table. Like very low fan speed. Like an internal Standardized Modular Connectors. Or even Corsair Type4 (Bitfenix Whisper M).

What does the EVGA G2/G3 bring to the table? What makes it awesome?? What makes it better than the Competition??
ähhh....

That is what I was pointing out. Thing is not in a vaccum without Competition. When the Competition beats the shit out of your product, why should I buy your product?!

If I want average noise, I can get a Silverstone ST55F-GS, wich is at least pretty cheap.

If you want noise ratings look here:

The quietest have an A++ rating.
