Well, I don't usually go shopping to best-buy, but I needed a new TV, and they had a Samsung one that was on sale for cheaper than Amazon.

While there I asked someone in the PC section if they had mechanical keyboards. He replied "we only carry standard USB and Bluetooth stuff." So I just ignored him. While browsing I ended up finding a nice selection of Corsair k70s and Razer Blackwidow Ultimate 2013s.

So I got a Razer Blackwidow Ultimate 2013, and basically fell in love with the blue key switches, albeit they are fairly loud, although I have large hands and like the feeling of actually requiring some force to press the button to the actuation point. My previous keyboard had red key switches, but I ended up giving it to my sister, I hate the feel of the reds.

So what are your though on blues? Also what key switches do you prefer?

PS: I grew up keyboarding on buckle and spring, although my dad only has one IBM model M, and that is his prized possession, lol.

Typing on blues is like tap dancing with your fingers. It feels like magic but it isn't the best for others to hear.

I prefer browns just slightly more because it feels more like knocking on wood and that has a nice satisfying feeling in its own way.

Got the same keyboard myself and I quite like it, but I would though probably have gone for red switches if I were to choose again ;)

I've only tried blues and blacks; I love blues, I even forget how loud they are until someone unfamiliar with mechanical keyboards comments on them.  After changing to a mechanical keyboard for a while you really cant go back to squishy membrane keys.

Hmm, doesn't the SteelSearies 7g use brown or blacks?

Might also pick up a 10 keyless Duky for lan parties if I can find one with browns or black. Never really tried those colors.

I went from Reds (didn't like them.  Too sensitive and lack of feedback.  They were "too smooth" for my typing), to Browns (almost satisfied with it, but it still didn't feel quite right.  The keys felt "hollow" to me, that's the best I can describe it) and then settled for Blues.  I looooove my MX blue keyboard.  The satisfying feedback, that audible click... it's just so amazing to type (which I do a lot) and game on it.

I love my blues. I really want to try out some browns and even green keyboards. I also love the sound that it makes and my roommates, if I have any, are going to hate me when I go to college.

I do love my blues. What I like about them the most took me by surprise, it's their "lightness", they aren't that light compared to others but my hand do like it.

Not that I have a problem with heavy ones, I'd like to try out MX greens(the only common switch I'm yet to type on). And I'd probably rate blacks as my second favourite, they do resist more but they're so inaudible :D

Thats the best analogy for that comparison I've heard yet.
