Is my liquid cooler working proberly?

I have a NZXT kraken x52 240mm AIO and have been getting the idle temps on 35-50 degrees Celsius on my 7700K (overclocked to 4,6 GHz). In game my CPU temps have been as high as 80 degrees and i have been wondering if my AIO isnt working properly. It would be nice if any of you have any ideas to how to fix my problem and or if i should send it back to NZXT.

Remount it with new thermal paste.

The pre-applied thermal paste that comes with coolers is good-enough for stock speeds on most CPUs, but when you OC that stock paste just can't keep up. Also, the pre-9th gen Intel CPUs don't have soldered IHS; meaning that they tend to run a little warm without delidding them.

 

You shouldn't need to delid to lower temps. I'd grab some Kryonaut or Noctua NT-H1, these are pretty high end pastes and should help reign in the heat.

I'm currently not using the the stock thermal paste i have applied some Arctic MX-4.
