240Hz Monitors with lower FPS

Dank Knotsey

I currently own a 60hz monitor with a rtx 2080 graphics card. I am looking to buy a 240hz Gsync monitor but I have an important question:

If my FPS is at around 150 and I have gsync turned on, will the Hz lower to match the FPS?

no , the monitor simply shows the same frame when it refreshes then and stays at 240

for example if you were watching a 24fps movie , every 10 refreshes would show the same exact frame and only change frames after it refreshed 10 times

Doesn't Gsync change the refresh rate to match the frame rate?

Just get a cheaper free-sync panel, it doesn't matter if your fps is lower even if you don't have adaptive sync.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

yes

that's why it's ADAPTIVE Refresh Rate Technology
