Quadcore Android Phone, Slugglish Performance

My phone used to be very fast but these days it is very slow. I have to wait a few seconds after pressing an app icon for anything to happen, and there is usually lag at first. I have traced the root of the problem to occurring only after I installed Facebook for Android, but I don't know why the Facebook app would make my whole phone slower. Is there any easy method of boosting performance aside from uninstalling FB?

I already use the latest Cyanogenmod, my phone is the LG Optimus 4X

Try to re-install your current rom or update CM to a later version. Either one will help no doubt about it.

Just spitballin here... I have no idea, just adding my thoughts.

 

Just like when windows gets bloated over time.. Those little traces of files left behind after installs/uninstalls...

 

Surely the phone would naturally get slower over time scanning directories apon bootup and thereafter.?

It may not show as memory usage, or any storage space change, but still being present as a laggy phone.

Wouldn't all phones be a culprit of this, rooted or not over time?

 

Doing the Proper Format Reinstall of the OS, install apps, root, setup how you like. Would still have this tiny file fragmentationstyle leftover syndrome.?

Try running a cleaner? I have to run that on my tablet every so often and it solves things. I run task manager and a cleaner ( can't remember the name, its similar to ccleaner on windows )

What settings do I use on LagFix?

I would ask this on XDA if I were you, but try running a logcat and see if anything is acting up.
