Messed up CPU?

So I'm having problems with hot temperatures and overheating I've had tons of people recommend check-in that thermal paste..

When I unscrewed my CPU fan and hate sync when I went to go pull it out I messed up and pulled out the CPU out of the motherboard thermal paste seem to find when I put the CPU back into the board it went back in okay and tighten down okay but I noticed it looks like I bent one or two pins on the bottom of the CPU The CPU is back in but now when I post the power button nothing happens will not boot up... 

 

What do I do now? Is it actually the CPU or the motherboard?

I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to buy a new processor ...

 

PS.... If your new and you have never handled a processor before don't you dare touch it you're better off taking it to a professional you might have to pay them to do it but it's going to be a lot cheaper in the long run I learned the hard way

The only chip manufacturer nowadays that has pins on the bottom is AMD.

Did you line up the arrow on the CPU with the arrow on the motherboard socket?

Not necessarily, it's a fairly straightforward process. What's your CPU and motherboard? How about attaching a photo?

Well I tried to but I don't see a arrow on the motherboard socket

You can bend the pin back into place, but you have to be careful and I highly recommend warming up the pins to make the metal more malleable and less prone to snapping.

Use a knife and put it in between the pins both ways, so they straighten out

Use a sharp end or fine tip like a razor blade and push it through the pin lanes.

I don't know about all that they looked pretty bent one almost looked like it was bent completely flat?

It's okay when I built my first system ever, oh so many years ago, I bought a shiny new i7-3770k and before installing it I thought the CPU socket pins looked cool, so I touched them... and yeah ended up accidentally bending a few, had to get a new motherboard.

Best I can do with pictures I could not get the picture of the CPU pins focused enough so you probably can't even see it

yep and I can't see them that great to handle them I'm going to go borrow a magnifying glass from the parents lol

Back in business boys hours of bending pens back ! 

Only one question will that hurt my performance at all?
