Yet Another FREE game...

Paul Rudd

The Great Story of a Mighty Hero Remastered is FREE over at IndieGala.

Here is the Steam link... The Great Story of a Mighty Hero Remastered.

It's a 9 month old Parody Action Hack and Slash RPG with mostly positive reviews.

Looks really decent. Downloading it right now and it's 2.7 GB in size.

IndieGala officially has my respect for what they've been doing lately.

I've built a fairly decent sized IndieGala DRM-FREE library in 2019 alone.

All for free. Quality indie games imo, quality.

Might not be a bad idea to post the name of the game in the title. I legit get lost in your posts. Still kudos for making them.

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.

I don't post the name of the game or where to get the game in the title so that...

  • when you see the post, you'll click on it. Less revealing.
  • when you click on the post, what's inside, is a surprise. Quality contents.

The problem is your titles get a bit samey, so who's to know if it's a new post, or just a new comment on an old post?

That's true. I'll keep that in mind for future titles. Been putting dates on my budget gaming deals, might as well on the free games I find too.

Very simple game, but really unplayable for me.

You can't change any settings for it, but the game uses the graphic style that everything NOT immediately around you is blurring.  This works in FPS games, for where your character isn't "looking".

But here, I never look at my character.  I look at the enemies coming to him and further on in the maze/map, and it's all blurred.   Really hard to play like that.

Cute concept, for what looks like a single person making it, but not for me.

Unplayable? You have an i7-8700K paired with a 1080ti. I noticed you can't change the settings too but the game still runs great on my PC and I'm only using an i5/1070. I notice no blur that you speak of.

It's not a performance issue, it's a design issue.

It's a myopic view.  The character is crisp and clear, while things away from him are blurred.  I should have taken a screen shot but it's similar to this...

The steering wheal is crystal clear but the road ahead is blurry.  I look at the road ahead, not my steering wheel.  Or the character in the case of the game.

Graphics are completely fine otherwise.

You do know you can just walk up 15 feet and the blur is gone right?

Thest2.thumb.png.d9a0229de04f5ebe09aa6e137b910f94.png

I like that design part about the game. It does not make the game unplayable in any way. It makes it unique. I don't understand how this could ever make a game like this unplayable. I'm thinking you leave negative reviews for games on Steam just because of little things that aren't even bad. Ya' gotta look past these types of things, literally. Try walking up 15 feet to bring blurred objects into focus. It's actually fun doing just that.

I told you. I don't look at my character at all.  I look ahead to where enemies are coming from and where I am heading.  All the time.  So this means I am looking at blurred graphics all the time.

This makes the game unplayable to me.

Play the game, looking at the top couple 3 inches while you play, letting your peripheral vision track the character.  Then you'll understand.

It's me, it's how I play.  Not a big deal, I am probably a minority.

I look ahead too, I see the blur. All the time. Then when I get anywhere near the enemies, POOF, the blur is gone. What on earth is wrong with looking at blurred graphics that turn into crystal clear graphics? How in the world does that make a game unplayable? You're gonna have to explain that to me.

I have played the game looking at the top couple 3 inches while I play. Letting my peripheral vision track the character. It's AWESOME. What makes it unplayable? What makes it whatever it is to you? I wanna know.

I don't like looking at the blurred graphics in my direct line of sight.  Blurred is for peripheral vision, that's what it's trying to emulate.  I don't like it.  Pretty much it.  :)

I think I understand now. It's a personal preference. You prefer for it to not be blurred. I have that same preference in most shooter games I play like GTA 5. But it's mostly because I gain a little fps by turning it off. If it didn't affect fps, I might leave it on. Depends on the game and how competitive it is. It's much easier to compete with it off.

Of course. In certain games, depth of field can actually look great. I think it's all about personal preference.
