Great case IMO. Features wise theyre very similar so that ends up being your aesthetic choice.

Hi all

So I was looking to get a new mid tower desktop case, and had my eye on the new fractal design meshify S2 case, but since it is a fairly new case I am a bit wary about getting it. Is it worthwhile to get right now, or are there better cases that offer the same functions as the S2 on the market?

Thanks for input!

It depends on what you are looking for (noise, looks, airflow, easy upgradability etc.).

S2 is an R6, so either one is good.  The S2 Meshify is just an S2 with a mesh front, nothing else changed.  It may be new but it's old design.

Cases are so subjective, it's hard to recommend any but the Fractal stuff is all built on the same base ideas so if you like them... worrying about a new case isn't a big deal, IMO. :)

That depends on what function you need or desire. $150 is not a purchase to be taken lightly if you're not sure it meets everything you need in a case.

Well, I was looking for a case that has good airflow, and has some pleasing aesthetics.

Airflow was the main thought when looking for a new case and I mean upgradability as well.

Aesthetics I cant help you with. That's entirely subjective.

Technically if your #1 concern is airflow, the Meshify S2 or Meshify C would be better suited for your wants.

What kind of upgradability are you looking for? Big Air tower? AIO? custom water cooling?

I like my Fractal case and it is a good company to work with but here is a thing, do you care about RGB? If yes, you can probably buy a case with RGB and a fan controller for that amount (or a little more). GN and Jayz2cents have some decent videos about Fractal cases.

S2 and R6 are pretty similar cases and Meshify is is meshed version of S2 (More airflow with slightly worse acoustics). At the end, it is going to be a lot more subjective depending on what you are looking for.

Ha, yeah, I guess aesthetics is more personal.

Well I would say AIO and air, don't know it should be either or, because I have a liquid CPU cooler, and have a good amount of fans as well.

As the system sits it would probably look very small in this case (The motherboard is small ish and the CPU cooler only being a 120mm AIO leaves a lot of extra room in the case) so until you make a hardware upgrade, it will look a bit weird. However it should have room for just about any possible hardware upgrade you could want.

It would look smaller in the S2? I currently have the thermaltake core x31 (non tempered glass version), which is around the same size of the S2, and I personally like the extra room, because I often am upgrading hardware in my computer, which allows room for upgrading and other add on's.

Well not in the X31 no. It would look the same size on the inside.

Great case IMO. Features wise theyre very similar so that ends up being your aesthetic choice.

Looking at the the PC-O11, it looks like a really good case. Lots of room to work with, lots of cooling capabilities, and the way the PSU is mounted, it looks very easy to transfer a system. And it looks pretty sleek.
