Need some help with my new gaming computer.

Shenykwa

So, I just but my first gaming computer and of course because it is a pre built unit from HP Omen category it hase some things that can be changed. It has an 128Go installed on the motherboard and it is not enough when you play. I want to buy an KINGSTON SSD A400 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s - 240Go that is around 28-35 euro in France. I want to add it in my station as a secondary SSD and only run my games from it. Is it a viable one and good quality? Or should I get something else my budget can't excede 40 euro?

And also can I instal it in my computer and use it without reinstalling the Windows?

Open to any suggestions.

Thank You.

That should work just fine. I don't know which PC you have exactly but I would think that it's possible to mount a second drive. You don't need to reinstall windows.

Yep.
Remove side panel. Install drive. Close side panel. Turn PC on and go in to Windows. Go in to Disk Management. Format the empty disk and create a volume. Install games on it.

I'd probably grab something larger than 240GB though. That's about 4 or 5 modern AAA games. A 1TB HDD might help you out for more bulk storage if required.

At this state the computer has an 128Go SDD and an 1TB HDD. You are right I might buy an extre 1TB HDD they are not the expensive

Yes leave the SSD for OS and daily apps.  Put your games on the 1TB external which is dirt cheap now a days.

That's super low end but fine.  TBH Id look to see if Team Group or Patriot sells in your area - they are more reliable (I use them, and they are CHEAP SSDs and they bench near the same as my Samsung SSDs)

Not knowing anything about your PC, but knowing something about PCs - you have more than enough SATA hookups, and more than enough places to mount another SSD.

Yes you can game from it, either download the game to it, or the gaming (I.E. Steam) client directory pointing to it.  Steam does not on its own now if you select to DL games on diff drives.

Windows 10 anymore you can literally just move an HDD to another computer and it will likely work.  To answer your question specifically - when you receive the drive and hook it up - it WILL NOT SHOW UP.  You need to format the drive to the appropriate format you want using My PC, right click, disk management (I think off the top of my head) - then it will show up as a usable drive.
