Rtx 2060 & 1700x Streaming

I have an RTX 2060 and a 1700x the question is whether i should used x264 or the new nvenc, i heard they are similar now but idk where I have more headroom and also does my 2060 give justice to the 1700x?

Either one will be fine.

 

I stream with a GTX 780 and a Ryzen 5 1600, and I've noticed that OBS Studio drops more frames using x264 compared to NVENC.

I'd just try both and see what you like. It will probably depend on the game you play. CSGO might be better suited for NVENC, since it needs basically no GPU power to run, but AAA titles might run better with x264.

new nvenc is about  x264 medium qualkity at 6mbs upload speed its really good

Depends on the game.

 

For Honor is what I know personally, and X264 is superior since For Honor doesn't utilize much CPU under any circumstances.

I streamed with a weak cpu, want bad but swapped the gpu to use nvec, it’s better but also needs to use more bandwidth. 

 

I stick to recording more. 

 

Need to do what effects your gameplay the least and what will provide the best visual experience for viewers.
