Hey all my friends of the forum. For my specs, (THIS) What the best BOINC workload to do for my system? Trying to get more credits for the bronze badge.

I know this might sound dumb, but get a F@H Bronze badge instead. I lost all of my Boinc points (+4 million) because of some stupid bug. Also, the Boinc badge looks really ugly (look under my profile).

 

Despite all of this, if you really want the Boinc Bronze badge, run Einstein@Home.

BOINC WUs are tracked by the account you make with a project.  So, they know which computer completed said WU.

Yeah I did all my points on a GTX 970 though, I don't think they even officially support AMD cards yet?

PrimeGrid PPS-sieve subproject (I think it is default for GPU) has great credit over time, as it is scored against the CPU app which is... much less fast. Equal credit for equal work done.

 

If you actually do want a chance at finding a prime number, you would run one of the GFN (genefer) projects on CPU or GPU, or LLR based projects on CPU. Credit is much lower than for sieve. AP subproject is another, GPU only.

 

Note the LLR projects on CPU have a similar stress level to Prime95!

My fav saying, need heat, run PrimeGrid PPS-sieve.  Need to stress test, run PrimeGrid LLR.  :P
