Losing color in HandBrake

Hey Everyone, I'm trying to archive some GoPro (Hero5 Black) footage (1080p 29,97fps) and compress it using handbrake.   (something that Steve does in his video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FFVwteuGC8I ) The problem is that i always lose color. A little artifacting is something i dont really care about but the noticeable color difference makes me think twice if i wana do this whole process. Tried to encode on 5k, 10k, and 20k mbps bitrate the result is almost the same (less and less artifacting) but always the same amount of color and contrast reduction. Any ideas what i should do to preserve color? Any tips and ideas would be much apreciated.

try using "quality" settings instead of bitrate?

Cinebench R15 Single thread:168 Multi-thread: 833 

SuperPi (v1.5 from Techpowerup, PI value output) 16K: 0.100s 1M: 8.255s 32M: 7m 45.93s

with compression you'll loose something.

 

Try:

- Constant framerate (same as source)

- Quality 20-23

- Encoder preset : medium - low.

- Resolution : same as source
