I am looking to build a new computer, I found a MSI z390 carbon and a i5 9600k. I figured an I5 would be better because I have heard that getting an I7 is not really necessary.

rtx 2080 with a i5-9600k. you can opt for higher, but its not really needed.

I have a 1920x1080 but I would like to upgrade to things like 2960x1080, I dont want to get a 4k. I would like to run games at around 140fps

... better again minus the fact you coulda swung for the extra 50 for an EVGA gpu (in case he has an issue)

is a more than valid option, but the windforce (or gigabyte) isn't a bad one either

 

btw, you should change that 33 in your builds for a 34 duo, it's quite a bit better

 

and the h500 is a nice case, but there are so many alternatives to it

it isn't, it's just that vrms aren't as good as the competition (asrock and gigabyte) on z390

 

I actually have the z370 version of it, so i can tell

I am not going against your advice, but the build that I am making is a black and white build. Is it worth getting the MSI Carbon with the sacrifice of less vrms?
