Should I upgrade to 16gb ram or...

Hello
Im currently running 1x4gb and 1x8gb ddr3 sticks of ram. when i chose to do this there didnt seem to be that big of a difference in framerates in games but ive gotten into Escape from Tarkov and watching videos of people playing at 100fps while im at 30-40.

i was quite shocked when i saw this.

im not sure if i should upgrade to this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CML16GX3M2A1600C10-Vengeance-Profile-Performance/dp/B007TG8QRW/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1551075921&sr=8-4&keywords=ddr3+2x8gb
or
https://www.pccomponentes.com/gskill-ripjaws-x-ddr3-1600-pc3-12800-16gb-2x8gb-cl10

Im not sure if i should wait till the end of the year at black friday when i plan on upgrading my cpu but would also need to upgrade ram as well to ddr4.

thanks

EDIT:

its says "tested speed 1600mhz" and "SPD 1333mhz" does that mean its been overclocked to 1600mhz and runs fine?

Two paired sticks of RAM running in dual channel will be better than two mismatched sticks running both single channel. 8 or 16gb of dual channel 1600-2400mhz RAM will be better than what you have.

i was going to try 2x4gb sticks but my heatsink is too big so i need low profile ram.

RAM model doesn’t really matter, just look at the aesthetics and specs

Did you make sure the people you watched had similar specs to you?

What heatsink do you have? You should sell that 4gb stick of RAM, and get an identical 8GB stick to the one you have now.

Pretty sure any RAM would work with it, it should not overhang on RAM slots.

You could very likely get away with getting another 8GB stick of RAM running at the same speed and putting it alongside your other 8GB stick

Have you ran the game at the same graphics settings? How about monitoring temps?

45% on cpu, 70-85% on gpu, 6-7gb ram.
im running on the lowest settings, i get 100fps in offline tho and 40fps online, everyone on tarkov discords and forums tell me its my ram. im not so sure tho.

turns out the game was actually broken, so all the retards on the discord telling me "its your ram idiot" can suc ma nuts. nearly making me spend £100 for no reason..

verifiyed integrity of the game and cleared the game cache (didnt even know was a thing on the launcher) now i went from 30fps to 70.

Not entirely true.

And that's been the case for years that you don't need two identical sticks in each channel. and its  a bit more complicated, but it should use dual channel up to 8GiB RAM and then single channel for the last 4GiB.

No, you need exactly 1 4GiB Stick so that you have 8 GiB on both channels.

Memory Controller these days only need the same capacity in each channel.

But we're talking about older DDR-3 SDRAM, so I don't know if it makes sense to invest in that...

I didn't mean identical, but paired as in dual channel, not two single channel DIMMs. Dual Channel at the same rated mHz is in all cases better than single channel.
