Posted February 24, 2019 When putting together a pc, and you dont have enough case fan headers what do you do? The fans arent pwm, so no need for a controller, but would a splitter still power both fans fully?, or do you need a splitter that also attatches to molex? Or is it better to just connect the fans to the power supply molex and not connect to the mobo at all?
 However, you don't get any PWM control and make sure your fans are the same wattage so one fan doesn't end up spinning like a jet engine and dying. Ive actually got a 2-way splitter, and a 4-way splitter that also connects to molex, im wondering if the splitter without molex would send full power to both fans, or would it only send enough for 1 fan, making them run half? Like will the single motherboard header fully power both fans or only half power them.
 When using splitters just be carefull not to exceed the max power draw of fan headers if connecting to motherboard (these usually only can provide enough for about 2 or 3 fans depending on their wattage).
