GPU for 1440p monitor

a 1660 ti is basically a 1070, given that a 1660 ti is only 280usd, 250 for a used 1070 is not a good deal at all, needs to be around 220 and below.

For new i'd go with the 1660 ti or the 2060, for newer AAA titles i think the 2060 is the better deal.

used gtx 1070 are 200-220$ on ebay

Ryzen 2600 Stock
GTX 1060 6Gb (2100Mhz OC)
Also having a 1440p monitor, BO4 ~85FPS, CSGO 300+, BF5 was about 100-110FPS.
I would go with 1660ti or a used 1060 6GB.

a gtx 1060 is not powerful enough to get 1440p 60fps in most recent games and it's not worth the upgrade from a 980 imo

Yeah, it's just a matter of time. It should cost around the same as the 1660Ti while being faster and it has more VRAM.

I found a vega 64 for $360. I think that's what i'll go with.

Imho I'm using one and I get almost all games 60Fps+. Tell me which game I will see if that's true.

AMD FX8320 | GTX660 | 4x4GB DDR3 | LG ZR2740W

Logitech Wireless Pro  | Logitech G413 | Nuforce uDAC5  | AKG K612

1060 wont do near 60 fps at 1440p max in tomb raider, even 1070 Ti has trouble with that.

That sounds like a good deal, go for it, but even then u wont be able to max out all games.

I had the need to run all at ultra and 8xSGSSAA back in the days when I had my Lightning Z but I got over it. Have now a good P/P-PC and changed my hobbies to cars and coding. ^.^

I don't play the "GPU hungry AAA" games. I will stay in the xx60 range with mainly good price/performance value. If you want a cheap deal, get a Vega 56 and flash a 64 bios on it.

I enjoy those newer AAA games and i want them to look as good as possible. I found a good deal on a vega 64 for less than what a vega 56 costs new (with swedish 25% tax) so thats what i'll go for

Is the 1070 too weak?

I’m still using a 1070 @ 1440p 165hz and it has no problem with any games I play (apex right now). I would look for a used one.

  • GeForce GTX 1070 Founders 8gb
  • Intel i7-8700k - H60 Corsair AIO Cooler
  • MSI Z370 M5
  • EVGA Supernova 750 Watt
  • 2 x 8 G. Skill Ripjaws DDR4 3200 cl 16.
  • Phanteks Eclipse P300
  • 500 gb samsung 960 evo / 1tb hdd
  • Corsair K70 rgb cherry mx blue - YMDK PBT Double Shot Pudding Keycaps
  • Corsair M65 RGB pro (weights removed) 400 dpi.
  • Bravo Audio V2 Amp
  • Massdrop AKG K7XX

How long do you think a 1070 would last before it gets obsolete and can't play games at 1440p?

Like 3 years .. just my opinion

I currently have a gtx 980 which is starting to struggle with more demanding games recently due to its 4gb vram. I'm saving up as much as i can but i don't think i can pay much more than $400. What is the best value card that can handle 1440p 60Hz hopefully 1-2 years. I've thought about a used 1070 or a 1660ti but they probably won't last for that long and I'm thinking either a used vega 64 or a new 2060. What would be the better option?

If u want a gtx1070 i found u some from belgian web sites:
