You can get an 8GB RX 580 for under 200$ USD right now, and its on par with the 1060 6GB

 

The 3GB variant doesnt make sense for really any consumer

It's not, the RX 580 and RX 570 are the best up to 200$ picks, past that get a GTX 1660 Ti

It's a card for 1080p gaming, if that is your resolution of choice and you're cool turning down a couple of settings here and there then it's fine, do have in mind you'll need a minimum of 8gb of ram to make up its low vram buffer.

Go with an RX570. If your budget is $800 there's no reason you can't fit it in.
