Looking for 2 new monitors idea 300$-500$ per

Nikonnn

Hi seems fate decided for me its time to upgrade when one of my current monitor decided to no longer power on this morning.

What i had so far 2 x SyncMaster T240 yeah i know its old, good for general purpose work but lack for gaming. So pretty much anything will be an upgrade from that.

I was looking for some idea in the

Criteria for what I'm looking for:

300-500$ range monitor each since i will buy 2 of them

24"-30" Range

Time to upgrade to 144hz

Something that will hold for several years.

Not a fan of ultra-wide

Currently using a Asus  GTX1060 Strix 6GB probably will upgrade next year, playing pretty much every style of game strategy, fps, mmorpg, simulation, racing etc..

What i found interesting so far and if you have any feedback regarding those choice, pros and cons or simply other suggestions

Asus

VG278Q 27in Full HD 144Hz  369$ CAD

VG248QE 24" 144Hz    329 CAD$

So far in my experience I didm't like 1080p on 27inch, the ppi was way too low for the distance i sat from the monitor. I'd recommend 24" for 1080p, 27" for 1440p and >30" for 4K

Might be worth thinking about what graphics card you may upgrade to, for example, some of the monitors have only DisplayPort 1.2, and you might buy a video card with DisplayPort version 1.4.

I was looking at a Benq monitor the other day as it was on special the ZOWIE XL2411P 24" (349$ AUD) as it was marketed as a PlayStation (eSports) competition class item but it is only DisplayPort 1.2 or the ZOWIE XL2430 24" 144Hz 1ms priced at 449$ AUD, which is also DisplayPort 1.2.

Mind you though, with the current cost of monitors with DisplayPort 1.4 such as the ASUS ROG Swift PG27UQ, which has a hefty price tag of 2,999$ AUD, maybe you should wait for that technology to trickle down to the lower-end monitor range.

That being said maybe look at some of the Freesync monitors that will have a G-Sync compatibility update, there is a bunch of them so far!
