so im building my pc tomorrow and i saw threads about static electricity

should i be worried about it? or is there any tips

Work on a surface that isn't fluffy (so no carpet or mats or something like that)

Touch anything that's grounded before building (a fridge is usually a good option)

 

Try to avoid fluffy clothes (wool socks for example isn't ideal). You can go full nekkid mode if you are paranoid but it's not needed to go that far.

 

Also you shouldn't be too worried, these days stuff is quite shock-proof.

Discharge yourself periodically. If you don't know of anything around you to do that on you can install the PSU first and plug it into the wall. Touching the PSU while plugged in will discharge you.

put the power supply in first and plug it into the wall.  then the entire case is grounded and all you have to do it touch the case occasionally.  dont need to worry about anything
