100% CPU and GPU in game

Hey, I have a pretty new system from August last year (i5 8600K, RX580, 16GB RAM) and over the last couple of days I can't play any games anymore since when I join the online game itself, I get a lot of stuttering and what the game says are network problems. I then checked task manager and it said only 2% of the network was used, but my cpu and gpu were at 100%. So I turned the settings all the way down and I still get the same problem. I tried network troubleshooter, nothing came out of it. I put my overclocked processor back to standard, nothing happened, I didn't download any new drivers over the last couple of days either. I don't know what the problem is. Can you help me?

What loads at startup (apps), do you keep browsers open and other tasks open when gaming?

"Over the last couple of days"

So before? (Change anything recently - drivers (not just GPU)?

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

You can try to boot into safe mode and run "Display Driver Uninstaller" clean and restart and back to normal mode and then install the latest AMD drivers.  Let us know what happens.

Get HWinfo, run it in sensor mode, start game and run it till it stutters, and check the temperature readings for everything. Maybe thermal throttling

What cooler are you using on your cpu? I had the same thing your describing happen to me on my laptop and it was windows update pegging the cpu to 100% to where you couldn’t use the laptop at all.

No cpu mobo or ram atm

2tb seagate hdd

Corsair rm750x

Hey everybody! Thank you for the help, I found the solution and it was purely settings and software. I had to change game settings in my files to fix the 100% issue and the lag is fixed by resetting the network.
