try to buy game and get this "There seems to have been an error initializing or updating your transaction. Please wait a minute and try again or contact support for assistance." soo yea im not sure how to fix this and i want to buy the game because its on sale

Best bet is to contact Steam. We unfortunately have no method of helping you resolve this as looks to be a Steam issue .

ok thanks i wrote to steam support and hopefully i will be able to get the game on sale price

Steam is down right now, don't waste your time contacting steam. Check out /r/steam if you don't believe me.

Well when they are back up the issue will be automatically resolved, contacting them won't make them solve the massive server problem any faster.

You're assuming that the problem was caused by the outage.

 

It might be the case. Or it might not. The OP saving themselves some time by submitting a ticket right away seems to me to be the most efficient process.

 

If you're right, and when the outage is over the system goes back to normal? Cool, the OP can buy the games they want and there's no trouble.

 

However, if you're wrong, then by having already submitted the ticket, they're potentially saving themselves days of response time.

 

Steam support has always been shit - though it's certainly less shit than it used to be. Ahh I can hope that one day they'll introduce a live chat, and a direct toll-free support number.
