Here's the countries getting some native currency love with Steam:

(Highlighted the markets that stand out to me.)

-Australia

-New Zealand

-Indonesia

-Phillipines

-Malaysia

-Thailand

-Japan

-Mexico

-Canada

-Turkey

-Ukraine

-Norway

I guess before those countries had to convert their currency into a supported currency to use on Steam or buy Steam wallet cards? Either way, this is really cool that Steam is adding these countries' native currencies into Steam. I'm surprised that the current currency selection is as little as it is. Anyways, these currencies will be added in throughout 2014.

I hope they price games like Origin. 500 mexican pesos (38 USD) for new games is pretty damn good.

No. No. No. Fuck you, Valve. Fuck you. Last time you introduced different currencies, you caused a shitstorm and you're still not done with 1$=/=1€ yet. 80$ for a game isn't acceptable. Looking at you, Origin.

My understanding is that publishers set the prices, and they determine those off of several factors such as how much they think you're willing to pay for it. I don't think this is an issue of everybody at Valve being lazy with conversion rates.
