Its my first time building a gaming pc and I have chosen these parts but Im not 100% sure if to change them or not. My budget for a gaming pc build is around £1000, I am alright with spending a little over so around £1100. I would mainly use it for gaming and not productivity as I have a laptop for that. I need either suggestions or anything which changing would benefit me either in price lowering or performance. I also plan to get a 144hz monitor a little after I build my computer. So would these specs be enough to get close to 144hz or more than in some games. The games I would play would be csgo, league, rainbow six, gta, outlast, overwatch, battlefield v, blackops etc.
Parts list -
evga gtx 1070 ti sc black - £460

Intel i5 8600k - £250 (Im very indecisive, aint sure whether to change to amd or keep this intel cpu)

corsair vengeance 16gb 3000 led - £116

msi z370 a pro mobo - £112

Cooler master hyper 212 cpu cooler - £24

evga 600w psu - £44

nzxt h500 case - £70

seagate 1tb hdd - £40

kingston 120gb ssd - £20

Total = £1,136

- GTX 2060, same price, higher performance and newer.

- Ryzen 2700x, 8 threads & 16 threads

- No cooler needed for ryzen

- If you have money to buy a 1070ti, why use cheap kingston ssd? Get a samsung or crucial.

So not go for the i5 but go for a amd cpu. Also change to a 2060. Know any motherboards that goes with the cpu and I can overclock a little?

Why the 2060 when you can go with the Vega 64 (or 2070) and still be within the £1000 budget? (See my edited post above)

Im mainly looking for performance though, is the vega 64 close to the 2070 or 1070?

It depends on the game. But generally it's 2070 > Vega 64 >>> 1070.

In my personal test the V64 performs basically the same give or take some as a 1080/2070, just depends on the game.

I would mainly play games like overwatch, csgo r6, gta, bf5 etc and I would get a 144hz monitor too.

Vega 64 is good too, but more expensive and power hungry, it should be in the 1080 performance.

You can also buy a Vega 56 and mod it to 64 for free (if you're lucky to have the samsung chip in it).

I have a 1440p 144hz most games i can get 1440p90 even on highest settings, 1080p 144hz should be no problem.

What's the RNG on getting a samsung chip?

Would I be able to overclock the amd ryzen 5 2600 so it would match the amd ryzen 2600x?

Easily, 2600x is just an overclocked 2600. I've seen it overclocked to 4.2ghz.

This is if you're lucky enough to have a good chip.
