Best Speakers for Rock Music?

Perche25

I’m working my first full time job and have the money to finally invest in a good speaker setup. I would be willing to spend around 500 total for speakers (or less if there are other necessary accessories). I listen to mostly rock but want something that sounds great for no matter what I’m doing. Any suggestions?

As long as it's rock, nothing else matters ?

Seriously though, I can listen to rock on almost anything... I prefer it with a bit more bass when possible though. I mostly use bluetooth headphones though TBH.

What do you want? Full sized floor standing speakers? Shelf speakers or multiroom setup?

For multiroom and rock music the Marshall Woburn can't be beaten, but it is expensive, the stanmore is it's baby brother and also sounds pretty good for its size. (make sure it is the multiroom and not the bluetooth only version)

Shelf speakers are shelf speakers, they are never going to sound the best (need to move air and vibrate to get the good low end tones but then everything rattles and shakes on your shelf).

Floor standing ones are a minefield. The most important thing is that they have a good WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor) they literally range from $1 up to $250k+ for a single unit, so like I said...mine field.

Dali Zensor 5 + some nice cheap, new Yamaha or Pioneer amplifier.

If it's too much - Dali Zensor 3 will be great too.

I have a pair of Zensor 5 as front speakers and they sound great. I do need to put the volume up to about 60 though, before they really come alive.

So you need better amplifier maybe.

I was talking about stero set (2 speakers and good stereo amplifier with proper power).

Probably shelf speakers. I can deal with the vibrations

I guess, I have a Denon X1400H now, not a really a crappy amplifier, but maybe not good enough to drive these properly. It's also mostly with music. Movies it seems to be fine (or maybe the rest overpowers it so it's less noticable).

My satellites are Dali Spektor 1's, they sound good when listening to them in my opinion, but a bit muddied I find. The Zensors are definitely clearer. Best thing to do is see if you can listen to speakers in a nearby (hifi) store.

I do a lot of cooking and moving around and usually have others over as well so headphones aren’t the greatest option
