My specs are in my sig. When I had my Crosshair VII board I could use my RAM at 3400+c14 with optimized timings using Ryzen calculator without any issues.

With my current Gigabyte Gaming 7, at 3400c14, same timings, I get crashes when playing CSGO. After I connect to a server I will get a lost connection stating that "Your game/pak01_00#.vpk does not match with the server's" (something like that). After researching it, it seems to be a memory issue.

I run memtest boot disk to test my memory and low and behold I'm getting errors with that overclock. Now I didn't use memtest with my previous board because I never encountered an error, so not sure if I would have gotten the same results.

Is there a problem with the overclock? It didn't seem to be an issue on the Crosshair (like I said, don't know for sure). My only overclock on the RAM is 1.35v, LLC set to extreme, frequency set to 3400 with timings entered manually using Ryzen calculator.

All memtest errors dissappear when brought down to 3200c14 with same optimized timings.

Sorry if I missed something, I'm on my phone.

Any suggestions? If I can't use 3400 then I just won't use it but I never had a problem playing on my other motherboard.

so dial it back down? Memory overclocking is more motherboard dependent than CPU overclocking. clearly the Gaming 7 wont be as good as the Crosshair in this department.

Yea, that's kind of gay. I was really hoping I wasn't losing any performance, even marginal. CSGO is the only program/game I'm experiencing the issue with.

Dude, verify your game cache in steam. I had the same disconnection issues then proceeded to verify my cache and haven't had issues since.

I got all worried something was wrong with my RAM or SSD, but I was just missing the file. Verifying the cache will get you the file back.

It looks like you got way more worried than I did with this issue and dove deeper.

I have the same board with corsair ram clocked at 3200, when I tried to clock it up to 3400 I have random crashes as well. I just went back to 3200 and have had no issues since, I also couldn't detect any real noticeable drop in performance, I mean I could measure a drop but real world usage saw no change

Verify cache? I've gone and verified game files several times. How do I do the cache? I always over think things lol. I also just love learning and tweaking shit. I've learned how to do so much more than I did before I built a PC :)

If we're talking about the same thing, the thing in the properties tab of CSGO, then you probably did do it.

You do mean that you went into properties, then files, then clicked the verify button thingy, right? Because if you did actually do it, then there is something wrong besides missing a game file.

You might have to go at 3200c14 for now. RIP.

Yea I did that lol. I'll do some more testing tomorrow. Thanks!

Wait, why did you get rid of the Crosshair?

I liked the RGB more lol. I figured it would work just as good since I was manually overclocking. Plus it helped squeeze a couple extra bucks for my Vega 64. After using it, I like that it has more headers, too. It can't overclock or run the boost performance like the crosshair, but other than that, I actually like it more..which I didn't plan on.. Has dual BIOS, more headers, RGB works better.. I have no problems with it until I just ran into this issue.

The Crosshair really is unbeatable when it comes to performance, though. Can't argue that lol.

I can understand that.  I don't have any RGB so it's never a concern for me.

And if it allowed you to buy more toys then that's even better.
