I have a Cooler Master ML240L liquid cooler with a MSI MAG Tomahawk motherboard inside of a Phanteks Eclipse P400STG silent edition case.

As i was installing the cooler to the motherboard i noticed that the mother board goes almost to the top of the case not leaving much space between the top for the screws that the cooler attaches to.  I have tried fitting it in the top but have not had much luck.  Is there any other place/way that i could fit the cooler inside the case without buying a new one?

The Eclipse P400STG only supports a front radiator, unless you put the fans for the radiator on the outside of the case I guess, but that's just a little bit incredibly ugly and would probably require cutting holes for wires.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Thanks for the help.

Gotta do what you gotta do. It shouldn't make the temps that bad. It will probably have closer to a negative effect than a positive one, but I wouldn't worry about it. Just mount it and monitor your temps for a while and as long as they're not too high, you'll be fine.

Not for that case, if it only supports front radiator.

Either change parts or take the potential hit on temps.

Front mounted rads are often favoured as they draw cool air across the rad.

Top mounted use already warmed air.

The temp hits will be on the GPU, MoBo and chipset. These could be negated by generally good airflow.

The obstructed front airflow and warmer air can temps of other components in the case but the difference in cooling is usually small.
