Your favorite MOBA?

ManOfDisguise

So recently I made a topic about how I got into MOBAs thanks to SMITE and I'm loving it! Been burned out for ages and now it got me back into longer ish gaming :)

So I was just interested which MOBA out of the big 3 you guys prefere? Or perhaps you prefer something different from these 3?(tht is also a MOBA). Also say why you like the MOBA that you chose.

Me:

Smite is my favorite because I think its by far the easiest out of the 3 MOBAs for players that are just getting into this genre. The 3rd person perspective makes combat a little bit more exciting and it means you can sneak around with any character you want. The characters are very cool looking and all of them have unique abilites(but I find Ra a bit OP thanks to his healing). The music is epic too!

Specs of my PC:

I tried LoL on my friends machine and I just couldn't enjoy it. I'm just not into this genre.

But If I have to pick a MOBA, i would play Dota 2. I've played a few games with bots and it is quite fun sometimes.

I love DOTA 2, spent nearly 700 hours in the just over a year i have played. However i will say that i think it is very hard to get into DOTA 2 as the tutorial is kinda rubbish but fortunately one of my freinds taught me how to play which really helped. I think LoL has a more noob freindly tutorial but i think DOTA has a better free to play model which makes it much more fair for people playing

I used to be the same. Everyone in my class plays LoL and I just couldnt resist getting into MOBAs with all the talk over it. Was tired of FPS anyway. Tried DOTA 2. Nope, quit like 10 min through the tutorial. Didnt even bother with LoL as I knew it was gona be pretty much the same thing(nothign for me). But then I found SMITE. The 3rd person perspective alone made this game much much easier for me. Then the auto skill buying which REALLY helps because the game buys appropriate skills for you(can be turned off). And the community is pretty nice(2nd day playing and already had like 5 people voluntarily help me learn the game)

I played LoL but after suffering multiple aneurysms and almost passing out due to blood loss I was forced to quit.

it's also an amazingly good game to deteriorate IRL friendships

I've played more LOL but I prefer DotA for the following reasons:

  • LOL has a VERY BAD community.
  • All characters are free in DotA
  • DotA is much less forgiving.
  • I've played more DotA allstars than LOL.
  • Feels like a bigger map
  • I like the graphics better
  • Voice chat (can be useful)
  • Released by Lord Gaben
