Just a few noob questions...

CyberCorn
  1. Asus MX34VQ 34" ultrawide (100Hz)
  2. Is Adaptive sync (freesync) a software or hardware? or both? if it is hardware, is it in the monitor/cable? if it is sofware, is it in the monitor or the PC
  3. If my G-sync adaptive does not work perfectly (flickering). Is it a hardware or software problem?
  4. If G-sync does not work perfectly with my monitor at the moment, can it be fixed with a software update later on, with a driver from the monitor manufacture or on Nvidia's end.
  5. If I upgrade to a new AMD GPU later on this year and start to use FreeSync, Will I encounter the same flickering I have currently with G-sync adaptive?

  1. Good choice.
  2. Hardware, FreeSync and G-Sync get baked into the monitor.
  3. Most likely software, could be due to the driver still being relatively new.
  4. Any problems will most likely be patched in future driver updates from Nvidia.
  5. That's unlikely, unless the flickering is a problem with the monitor itself.
