Try changing from nvenc to x264, nvenc isn't known for the best quality.

Heyo,

I'm editing with this free program called Shotcut, and it's pretty cool but the only thing is, I don't know what presets to render with for the best possible quality. When I'm recording my clips in csgo I want to get as close as possible to the raw shadowplay clip, but my past renders look pretty bad. I'm doing 1080p 60fps. if anyone knows, that would be great!

Thanks!

either that or just export h.264 and set the bitrate overly high

You could push encoder quality all the way up, basically the CPU spends more time doing the compression so it gets better. The effect really drops off at about medium settings though

Thats what I did in my last render, but It still looked kinda fuzzy so I guess I'll just push it really high and see how it goes.

What quality is mlt set to for rendering?

hold up. The video is rendering right now, lemme get a screenshot. If you can point me to my best option I will happily use those settings even if my poopy CPU takes forever to render it.

Try changing from nvenc to x264, nvenc isn't known for the best quality.

I'm not seeing an x264 option... I watched my video and it didn't look that bad, to be honest. Pretty good for a free software, but I can get vegas or premiere pro in the near future for more options and such. Thanks for telling me, I will make sure to use x264 when I start using paid software.

The quality of premiere should be about the same as shotcut. Its mainly features your getting. Can you show a screenshot of your footage output?

What do you mean footage output? Like the video itself? Sorry, I'm a little confused.

Oh, i get it. The output with h264 nvenc doesn't look really that bad, it seems to be youtube that's killing my video quality. I found x264, it was marked as libx264 and I had a brain fart and passed over it in the options.. Heres screenshots of about the same spot in the video. 1.png is the file from my PC, and 2.png is the video from youtube.
