i7 8700k running too hot?

I purchased an iBuypower PC and noticed that right out of the box the CPU temperatures seemed odd. I don't have a lot of knowledge and my research came across conflicting information.

I've attached a screenshot of Core Temp's readings. These were taking just browsing the internet and watching streaming video. Are these temperatures normal?

Listed in Fahrenheit, scared me for a sec. Temps are fairly normal, is this load or idle? Overclocked or no? which cooler?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

I don't know what coretemp is but those temps aren't good for just using the web.

The temps are in F, not C. That threw me off... You're good.

Sorry for the scare. This is while idle. Not overclocked. It's using the stock cooler that came with the computer. I'm not sure how to determine what cooler.

A description of the cooler would suffice.

Doesn't look like this does it? If not, you're probably fine. To be safe, why not boot up a game or something and check temps?

Although I could have sworn I read something about core temp reporting the wrong voltage despite accurate temp readings.

Definitely substantial enough for stock performance.

These are the readings while playing Destiny 2 at max settings, 1440p on a 144hz monitor with fps uncapped.

As mentioned above, totally fine. You'll notice that TjMax is 212°F or 100°C. You're topping out at 140°F, which is 60°C. Anything under 80°C is optimal, and anything under 100°C is technically "safe".

Pro tip: change your units to Celcius, as that is the standard scale for hardware temperatures.

Thank you for this information. I appreciate it.
