So I'm building a new PC and I have some questions....

JuhJuhDuck

So I'm building a new PC and I don't quite know much about reusing hard drives and I'm questioning how to do some things.

I'm currently using a prebuilt PC from ASUS with the following known specs:

i5-6400 @ 2.7Ghz

16GB RAM @ 2133Mhz

GTX 1060 6gb

2 1Tb HDD's + 500Gb SSD

With this said, I'm making my new build with the following parts:

ASUS ROG Strix B350-F Motherboard

AMD Ryzen 2600X Processor

Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16GB RAM @ 3000Mhz

GTX GeForce 1060 6GB (Reused from last build)

2Tb HDD's (Reused) + 500Gb SSD (Reused) + 500Gb SSD PCIe

Corsair VSS 550W PSU

With all that said, I have the OS on my current SSD but I don't entirely know how to wipe everything including the OS off that drive so I can put the OS on the PCIe SSD (through a USB drive) when I build my new computer.

If anyone can help me with this I'd appreciate it and if someone could check my parts for any suggestions I'd appreciate that too.

Thanks

~JW

You should honestly just be able to connect the SDD to your new system if you really want and start using your system.

Thanks for the current replies. I already have all of my parts besides my case so I guess its too late for me on that part.. if I put my SSD into my new build as is would it run just fine? And if so, any suggestions as to how I could move the OS to the PCIe SSD?

It's fine, but there's no power supply.

I would recommend a TX550M or CX550

Ryzen 7 3700X / 16GB RAM / Optane SSD / GTX 1650 / Solus Linux
