Have u invested in the overpriced G sync monitors? likely not so then have u invested in Free sync monitors??

This reason is a big one as to what Mid range GPU to get. Since G sync crap is expensive addition to products. While FreeSync is FREE. And seeing as a 1060 costs more than a 8gb 580 and litrally makes u pay more for it and the monitors with a sync tech there is no point for a mid range Nvidia card. Always been the case since G sync and free sync were released when regarding these two cards.

Also driver issues are software which can be updated. So why would u return a card because of something like that OP?

U are willing to buy a shitty 1050ti compared to a 8gb 580.... are u high? Seriously why do u want a Nvidia low end card so much? Do u wanna burn more money on old hardware that costs more. Compared to a 8gb 580 which costs 160 and plays games above 90fps easy. Cuz it sure seems like u wanna get the more terrible option...

You expect me to reply then you'd best QUOTE me so I can........thanks

Did you try uninstalling the radeon wattman?

When i used the rx480 (same thing as 580) i never installed it and it worked fine in all games.

I know that in Radeon Wattman you can set power and fps limits, and from your description it sounds like you did that.

Did you tried to fix your problem before refunding the card?

I only see your reply if you @ me.

I was just fed up with not working at high FPS all the time when it should be of near 100fps every time a play and having to reset the wattman every time I switched the pc on got on my nerves that is why I returned i have a 32 led Samsung tv so no free sync

1050ti only does 30-40fps on mid settings.

the direct equal to rx580 is 1060 i think.

i player shadow of tomb raider on full settings 60fps.

He said he already did. Which makes no sense who returns a card without testing it more than once?? To be sure, guess OP does huh....

Great not my point u said get a 1060 which is clearly inferior in every way. And yet u give no reasons why to get it over a cheaper 8gb 580??

how high are you talking about?

if you want 100+ you won't getting it from mid tier cards.

you need 1070 or vega 56 at least.

AGAIN the FPS issues are driver related meaning its temporary. If u for some reason need to game right now and get those extra 20fps for whatever weird reason then sure buy a 1060 for MORE money.

And then when a week or 2 passes and the AMD driver issue is fixed u can laugh at yourself for wasting another 80-100 on a 1060...

There are 12 certified Free-Sync monitors that will work on Jan 15th will all Pascal and Turin GPUs. In addition, Nvidia has not tested all the free sync monitors out there and even if yours is not certified yet, it will still potentially work. A lot of Free Sync monitors are pretty terrible due to lack of quality control from manufactures.

There is no real problem with RTX GPUs other than high prices. Ray Tracings works well in Battlefield 5. On high settings at 4k I am getting 60fps with RTX on medium. Pretty dang good imo.

86 to 100 is a good number for rx580.

Look into the used market for GPUs, you might be able to get a hold of a used 1070 or 1060 6gb for a good price.
