My future build with QUESTIONS

Good afternoon everyone,

 

So before I begin the last time I fiddled with a PC build was back in 2007 when gpu's had 256mb of video ram. So with that said since my return to gaming (after a pretty good career with counterstrike). I've decided to build a PC so I can play other games as well. Now when I first started looking at all of my options I found myself confused, mostly due to the advances in technology. So I did some research and from reading reviews and just using process of elimination I think I've created a decent build for my budget.

 

My main goals here are to A) Build a PC for gaming and just recreational use. B) Build a PC for the future ~4-5 years. C) Not overspend on parts that have comparable benchmarks.

 

I'm curious about a few things though, with the CPU (i7-9700k) and the MOBO (Asus Rog Strix z390 e-gaming) will I run into issues overclocking it? I've heard the MOBO is good for overclocking and should be able to handle an OC of up to ~5.0 -5.3GHz) Can anyone comment on this????

 

Please let me know what you think of my parts choices.

the board might break this rule, Asus is not the way for spending the least amount for the performance.

Well I will be overclocking, what are your recommendations?

Best performance comes from Gigabyte Z390 Aorus boards, but considering the 9700k doesnt draw nearly as much power as the 9900k, you can get by with Asrock Extreme4 boards. K6 or Phantom 6 gives post code display and CMOS reset switch on top of stuff the Extreme4 has. The MSI Z390 Gaming Edge is also on the same level of performance.

So for me wanting to overclock to ~5.0 those boards should be good???

yup, then it comes to praying not get a silicon loser.
