Can I fit my Intel Core i5-655K CPU in an LGA 1151 motherboard?

Go to solution Solved by Constantin,

No!

This may seem like a dumb question but I'm hoping that I'll be able to fit my core i5 cpu with an LGA 1156 socket into a motherboard that has a LGA 1151 socket. I doubt they're compatible but I really can't afford to buy a new CPU and Motherboard. So my question is: Can I put my CPU in a board with an 1151 socket or do I need to buy a new CPU altogether?

Thanks, that's what I thought but I figured I would check anyway.

Save up for a new mobo and CPU combo. You can get something 4th gen for a relativly low price.
