500 W power supply

So i have an I5 7400 with a gt 420 and i want to upgrade to a 1050 ti . Is the ATX-500 w power supply going to be able to hold all of this and is it compatible with the 1050 TI. Thanks for listening !

well, any model numbers maybe? or even a picutre of the label? wattagewise it's going to hold it with ease, but i'm not sure qualitywise if you should...

ATX is a form factor...You need to more specific

If a PSU is called "ATX-whatever" there is a 99,9% chance its a fire hazard, something that can only be used as a paper weight, sports (PSU Trowing competition) or self defense.

Its JUNK..just get a better one such as Corsair CXM Grey or Be Quiet Pure Power 10.

I would recommend getting a new one after seeing that...

cx(m), pure power 11, masterwatt (not the pwm or lite), txm, rmx, focus gold, formula gold, whisper and many more are good examples to look into. there's a psu tier list down my signature, look into that and choose at least a tier c psu

If so, use the PSU!

If you want to survive, not cause a fire or have the Components a couple of monts more, you'd better replace it with a decent one.

Even if it is able to do the 12V Rating, that's still not even 300...

 

And with "multi Rail" and stuff, we are talking about something like a totally overrated 250W PSU, maybe 300W.

just to give some examples I see in germany

corsair vengeance

be quiet pure power 11

cooler master masterwatt (not the lite or pwm)

be quiet straight power 10

seasonic focus gold

corsair cx

corsair cxm

bitfenix formula gold

bitfenix whisper m

and many more, check the psu tier list down my signature and select at least a tier c.

 

you should be able to find them for around 50 euros

Cheap PSUs die in great fashion often taking motherboards and GPUs with them. Blowing up and fire is not a joke, but a serious reality. Spend $40 on something that is not garbage and has 40A an the 12V rail.
