This case was a ridiculously tight fit with this motherboard, I originally had the three 120mm fans on front as intakes through the 280mm rad with no fans directly attached, and the two 140mm fans from the rad on the top as exhaust, positive air pressure environment #heatrises. I also wanted the rear as an intake because of how many VRMs and chokes are on this board with no direct cooling with the AIO installed, so I figured some cross wind couldn't hurt when everything was being sucked out the top, but after trying to plug the TWO 8-pin CPU headers in the motherboard.. The 140mm fan on the top at the back didn't fit because of how many CPU power cables were running through there, so I put them back on the rad just because I had them, but I'm going to be replacing them down the road with more HD120's for the top exhaust as opposed to the ML Pro 140's that didn't fit.

  • 1 year later...

ik this is kinda a necro, but saw your new post and came here, just want to let you know your photography is amazing. Especially that last shot with the CPU cooler and the ram 🔥

The H500 is a tight fit for that mobo, is there a reason why you didn't go for a different case?

Thanks, I ended up going for the H510 Elite because I think it looks neat, couldn't find anything else bigger that was that simplistic, so just decided to shoehorn it all in there, surprisingly enough, there's actually more room in the H510 Elite than the Spec-OMEGA RGB, like, a LOT more room.

I was using a vertical GPU bracket with the Spec-OMEGA and the EVGA FTW3 1080ti I have, I had to remove the two internal 140mm fans off of the rad only leaving the three 120mm intake fans to cool the CPU which resulted in temps hitting ~90c when rendering videos, with the H510 Elite it has a built in vertical GPU bracket, so using that, I'm able to fit the full 1080ti with both 140mm fans on the 280mm AIO cooler with about 20mm of room to spare between the GPU and 280mm AIO fans.

I'll try to find some fitment pictures, and then some final pictures of this build before I took the entire thing apart to build my new one for 2020.

This is the EVGA FTW3 1080ti fitment with a vertical GPU bracket and the Corsair H115i installed without the included 140mm fans.

Yes, I scratched the rad fins installing this.
mzYAxf8.jpg

But I did get it installed, got the RGB on it all setup and everything was working
pDEltN1.jpg

Finally, I just couldn't deal with iCue glitching out every time they released a software update by corrupting files with RGB Fusion, I would spend hours to days trying to diagnose the issues (mostly fans not spinning or RGB Vomit mode just turning on by itself), so it's finally goodbye to Corsair, it wasn't a fun time lol
If I learned anything from this, it's that Corsair, is the Apple of PC hardware, I was expensive for no reason, it didn't play well with any other brands, the rear panel cable management wasn't a thing that was even possible because they offer you places for drive storage, but no where to have any cables if you use the drive storage locations, and the quality control was just really poor for what I paid too, it's mostly plastic without very good finishing (you can see a lot of flashing and mold separation lines on some parts) and the hard drive brackets kept falling apart just trying to put a drive in. The entire chassis is really weak too, every time I took the glass off to do something, I had to physically tweak the case to get the glass to line up again, I actually just edited a bunch of old footage of a mid-2019 upgrade I did to this computer and posted it to my main channel on Youtube, the channel from the video posted above is my second channel for random "glam videos", the tech and car stuff goes on a different channel. But the video is basically me struggling with fitting a second hard drive in the AorusOMEGA and then fighting with the provided cables with the HX1200, I ended up getting CableMod cables after making that video but no footage of them.

But, this tangent has gone on for far too long

This, is the last of the AorusOMEGA
