I took my whole G710+ apart including every key. It was quite time consuming, but that's the only way to really get in there and clean it thoroughly. You also don't need a key cap remover if you take it apart, because you're able to get under the switch a lot easier.

Just take out every single key cap from your keyboard and clean each key cap with a toothbrush. Then clean the keyboard itself.

I just did this recently to mine. It is very time consuming but it will look like you just bought it when you are done.  ^_^

I'd suggest the paper clip method if you don't have a proper remover. After that, clean the caps in warm water and a light soap (dish soap). After that, use some air to blow any of the crumbs out. Dry everything, and then carefully put all the caps back on.

Should only take you an hour at most :)

I have an Apple keyboard so there's really nothing I can do if stuff gets in it. On my old mechanical keyboard, I just took some of the keys here and there off and vacuumed. I think the above methods will work better though.
