I don't want to break anything but im well overdue for a cleaning. Got nasty food bits and sugar (I think from cracking open sodas, splatter drying) all over the screen. I have a micro fiber cloth, what cleaner would be safe?

I spit on the screen and then i rub it with my shirt, works well.

Spoiler

Actually i use microfiber cloth + alcohol free display cleaner

Alcohol free is important, because alcohol can damage some plastic display coatings, so better not to risk it.

I only see your reply if you @ me.

Depends on the mineral composition of the water. If your water is very mineral rich it will leave microtraces of salt on your monitor so not good. But it will be better than nothing, but unplug your monitor and then rub it carefully.

If it is normal tap water and it doesnt taste salty then it should be fine for one time. Piss and spit are worse options.

Well another option is my fridge's filtered water, but it's cold so Idk how well it will clean stuff.

You can get screen cleaner for cheap at most electronics stores

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

I used warm water and then dried it with a paper towel to hopefully get any " salt " or anything off of it. Worked fine, pretty clean.
