I don't have much startup by default but have a pretty high idle ram usage. When having steam, discord, Bitdefender, and icue open only in the background and nothing open on the screen I sit at about 30% (5gb) RAM usage out of my 16GB. What should I do to reduce my ram usage? My antivirus (Bitdefender) uses about 400mb and I am fine with that but what else can I do to reduce my ram usage below where it is now?

You can try to disable the superfetch/sysmain services as these preload frequently used programs into your memory. To do this, press windows key+R on your keyboard, and type in “services.msc” in the space. Then a window will pop up and show all your running services. Scroll down until you see “superfetch” (“sysmain” if you updated windows recently) and disable it, as will as disabling it on startup. Then restart your PC.

Go to task manager and disable startup programs you don't need.

Bitdefender 2019 takes a fuckton of system resources and still manages to take up to 6h on a full system scan (HDD however)
