What security programs do you install for a new Laptop or Desktop ? Fixed W10 restore point or HDD clone?

Canada EH

Malwarebytes

CCleaner

Cloning HDD so you can revert to a fresh install

Anti Virus Free or Paid, which ones

Is there a way to have a restore point in W10 that is always there, so 2 or 3 years later, if I am called about a problem I can just go to the restore point of the laptops first week of use?

Malwarebytes

Lots of ad-blockers in your browser of choice. Kills all that crap before it even hits your system.

Run as limited user, that helps with drive by viruses that sneak past the ad blockers.

What does "Run as limited user" mean?

By default, the user in Windows is an Administrator. Full control of the system. Which means anything that viruses will run as that Admin too, and can auto-install.

If you set your user profile as a "limited user" then you have no install rights to install any software or make changes to your system, which means anything malicious won't be able to either. But before you do this, you'll need to have a separate Admin account created, for when you do need to make changes.

FlashControl (by Dave)

HTTPS Everywhere

DecentralEyes

Autoplaystopper

Disconnect

Ad-free web experience, virus and malware free.
