 decent rating, atleast bronze.

"Bronze" isn't a quality rating.  It's only an efficiency rating.

i own one cx450m, but i can return it for my money cause it hasnt been 30 days yet, but i like the tx550m. might go for that.

why is the tx550mv2 better than the cx550m tho? other than the rating going from bronze to gold?

80+ rating isn't the only thing that matters.

But it seems like most people only care about the brand and 80+ certif.

The TX has better internal components and delivers cleaner power, that's a what matters for component stability/reliability over time and PSU longevity.

that is right, better 80+ doesn't correlate to better quality

, but should you really buy a non 80+ psu these days?

how many of them are good?

and the best psus are 80+ gold or higher IIRC

no, that can't be found in the specs or the manufacturer's website.

And it's so important, but since nobody cares they just don't list those differences.

YOU NEED TO LOOK AT REVIEWS (ACTUAL REVIEWS WITH INTERNAL ANALYSIS AND LOAD TESTING)

I like aris reviews (tomshardware, techpowerup and kitguru) but computerbase and tweakpc tests are also good.

you need to compare the transient filtering, topology, capacitor selection, soldering, fan, internal temperature, electrical performance, etc.

So it can be quite daunting if you don't understand basic electronics. The simple answer is that TX psus are better

TXm is a notch above the CXM but not much better. Considering that the formula gold is the same price as it I wouldn't even look twice at the TXm.

There are websites that do power supply reviews.

There's even a data base that aggregates all the better reviews:  http://www.realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/PSUReviewDatabase.html
