I recently tried to upgrade my Seagate HDD sata 1tb to 2tb. The HDD works fine but I can't but fails on it. It says access denied.

Right click on the drive, select "Properties", then go to the "Security" tab. Make sure everyone in  "Groups or user names" has permission to write to the drive. If not, then modify the permissions to enable write permissions.

It's all greyed out I can't change any of this. Going into advanced I can't change the permissions there either. From youtube videos, I tried auditing but even that gives me some errors. Any ideas? I've watched all the youtube videos I could but nothing worked.

Does reformatting it do anything? Permissions should reset if you do that.

Otherwise I can defer you to this Microsoft tech support thread to see if there's anything in there that you haven't tried: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/4ff54a55-2fab-4ba9-b6b4-6315579640cc/unable-to-change-permissions-or-take-ownership-of-files-or-directories-as-administrator?forum=w7itprosecurity

Hello, confirm you added System, Administrator and Authenticated Users the permissions.

If this can't help you, you can try deleting it and make a new partition.
