the touch screen of my s8 broke and I'm going to buy a new phone instead of repairing it as a screenrepair is way too expensive imo. Is there anyway to get to my old photos and files? It is my phone so I know the passwords and everything but i cant unlock it due to the touch screen being broken.

Fingerprint unlock will still work fine, so plug it in and unlock that way to get your files.

 

Also check what has been backup up by google (of course if you disable this feature it wont help you)

 

As a last resort just take the phone to a local repair center, ask them to get your data off the phone.

Start using Google photos with backup & save everything to an SD card instead in internal storage. 

Doesn't help you here, but hopefully be a lesson for next time. 

Otherwise try logging into the phone using fingerprint then plug into a PC - might be able to access.

I have a back up on google drive but I'm pretty sure it's only call history and settings, also cant acces it on my pc.

I'm unsure about any PC programs for unlocking it via your PC.

 

But if you have a micro SD card in the phone you could take that out and use your computer to read it and recover some photos/videos.

i dont have an sd card unfortunately. I think I will use a usb otg cable and connect a mouse to my phone, let's hope that works. Anyways thank you.
