Orientation for a desktop case

I have a budget gaming rig inside an old desktop office PC case (I didn't realize it was a desktop case when I bought it because the shop that sold it to me had it on its side, unplugged). I'm a little low on desk space so it'd be great if I could stand it up vertically like it was in the store, but is that safe? If I buy some stick-on rubber feet from Home Depot, will it be stable enough to operate on its side, or will that cause damage to the case itself or the hard drive?

It's safe to operate. Hard drives can operate it most orientations, mostly recommended at 90ºC angles (So I wouldnt leave it slanted per say)

 

The only real risk is the case falling over, so as long as it's properly secured and isnt in danger of being tipped or knocked over, it's totally fine.

Perfectly fine.  HDD's can be used any orientation.  Nothing else would have any issue either.
