What to upgrade? $50-80

SWATermelon

Curious what I can get from upgrades to my preexisting rig. What would boost performance (used for browsing and light gaming) and cost less than ~$80 USD?

PSU

Prudent Way PWI PR550
RAM
    6.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 669MHz
Motherboard
Gigabyte Technology Co. Ltd. GA-880GM-USB3 (Socket M2)

Get a SSD it's about that price and will make loading times 10x faster

Don't care too hard about loading times, tbh

If you can upgrade both, get a new CPU and a new GPU.

But like, which ones? I am not too knowledgeable about different models.

Whatever CPU that's on the AM3 socket and better than what you have, and probably shoot for a used GT 1030.

Just for booting up windows or opening a browser is a lot faster. Game loading times are not what loading times are for. $50 - $80 isn't that much.

Agree with darpy, SSD. An SSD will noticeably improve interaction with the OS and every program; it also can migrate to a future rig. You are running AM3 socket, not AM2(if your provided motherboard information is accurate). You should run some logging software like open hardware monitor to figure out if there is an obvious bottleneck and upgrade on that basis if your not interested in an SSD. If a cheap used quad core can be found, it will help with general programs. Otherwise a GPU will improve game image quality even if the bottleneck is the CPU.
