Best budget SSD

500GB MX500 or 860 Evo, best value per GB among their lineup.

 

if you want to go cheap then maybe 250gb versions, but once you see the price you know what I mean

Best budget SSD I have bought was the Patriot Burst 240gb SSD.  Its benches the same as my Samsung 840 and 850 EVO reads speeds.  A slightly lower Write speed, and same random IOPS.  I am super impressed with mine. 

 

I don't consider Samsung as Budget, but they are the best when it comes to reliability etc.  If you can stomach the budget increase I would get a Samsung personally.  But that's because I have them in use and no complaints.

ok thanks, a lot of people have recomended the 860EVO but ill check out the one from ADATA,

If your build is nice, I wouldn't skimp on a cheap SSD (if you can afford it) if you cant, get a cheap SSD...the difference between HDD and SSD isn't even describable.

SSDs do degrade over time/use.  My 500gb SSD has (through Samsung Wizard software) degraded none and has over 20TB of info written and taken off of the drive.  My only thought about something like this used is getting one that's had tons of miles put on it and you wont know until you use the Wizard software.  But take my opinion with a grain of salt, I don't buy used
