New (Updated) Christmas Build

KevinH9

Most of friends for this years Christmas were all want to get computers

I want some feedback like FPS and what type of graphics setting I can play on and also can I stream and play on this pc

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/nLGvcY

i chose a Z370 motherboard even tho I have a i5 8400 so I can’t over clock but In the future I will upgrade the CPU to a K-series’s and with Z370 you have access to Intel Optane Memory.

i already have a new 1TB hard drive btw.

Thanks Everyone for the Feedback!

- Merry Christmas

You'd be better off going with a ryzen 5 2600 if you want to stream and have upgradeability, plus you can overclock right now and won't have to use a Biostar board.

Ryzen 5 1600 @ 3.9 Ghz  | Gigabyte AB350M Gaming 3 |  PaliT GTX 1050Ti  |  8gb Kingston HyperX Fury @ 2933 Mhz  |  Corsair CX550m  |  1 TB WD Blue HDD

Inside some old case I found lying around.

Yeah, I'd look into a Ryzen based system tbh.

Not trying to pick sides but I prefer intel since they almost always take higher FPS on games and I don’t stream a lot and it’s sometime rare I’m just looking for Quality of game like highest and be above 60 fpsFPS

Well you only have a 60Hz monitor so anything above 60 is just a waste. Ryzen is more than capable of doing that at a lower price.

It is funny how you said you weren’t trying to pick sides but then went on to pick a side, lol.

Then get Ryzen, much better value.

Doesn't matter if you're averaging 61 or 200 fps when you have a 60hz panel.

Besides, the 12 threads of the 2600 will be better for streaming than the 8400's 6.

Reading everything said above, I would bet any money that you couldn't even tell the difference if you were gaming with an i5-8400 or an R5 2600. Secondly, I will back up the advice of those recommending AMD Ryzen over Intel. You mentioned you went with a Z390 motherboard for upgradability, the Z390 is most likely the end of the line for Intel's current consumer platform so at the most you can get an i7-9700k or i9-9900k, but for the money, it really makes no sense. If you want a better upgrade path then you would go with AMD, with promised AM4 support through to 2020 we will likely see 2 more generations of Ryzen CPU's and if leaked info is any indication of what is to come you probably will regret going the Intel route. Even if the leaked info we are getting on the new Zen architecture doesn't hold completely true you still have a better upgradeability path.

It seems though that you have you're heart set on intel lol. If that is the case, just go for it, these are just our opinions.
